“Helping active, outdoorsy women 45+ restructure their training and fueling to lose stubborn midlife fat, restore all-day energy, and build the all-round strength to keep saying yes to life’s adventures for decades.”

Welcome
Grab a coffee and enjoy this five-minute read.
I’m Becky: former professional cyclist, two-time UK age-group triathlon champion, and now more than 600 weeks into uninterrupted training.
I’m a lifelong mover, a mother of two, and a certified trainer who has spent more than three decades training, competing, experimenting, and learning what makes a body strong, fit, and capable.
For years, I trained the way many of us were taught: harder sessions, relentless mileage, intense discipline. On the surface, it worked. I was endurance-fit and high-performing.
But in my early fifties, I hit a wall that discipline couldn’t climb.
The Moment Everything Changed
Despite having a powerful aerobic engine built from decades of riding, I woke up one morning and couldn’t perform a single proper push-up.
The engine was strong, but the armor had gaps.
But that wasn’t the worst part.
My body had stopped responding to my efforts in the way it once had.
- The midlife fat around my middle wouldn’t budge, no matter how hard or far I rode
- My energy crashed at random times during the day
- My recovery had noticeably slowed
I kept thinking: “How can I be this consistent with my sport… and still be gaining fat, losing energy, and losing my upper-body strength?”
That question changed the way I looked at everything I was doing.
The Broken Midlife Equation
For two decades, I’d repeated the same cycling movements, the same movement patterns, and largely the same physical demands.
I was extremely well adapted to one thing.
But variety had quietly disappeared. My body had become highly capable at one demand, while becoming less prepared for life’s many demands.
Simply going for another long bike ride wasn’t going to build what years of long bike rides had failed to build.
More endurance wasn’t the answer to declining strength. More miles weren’t going to challenge neglected movement patterns, protect muscle and bone, or give me the resilient, all-round body I wanted for the decades ahead.
And doing more while eating less wasn’t the answer either.
Like many active women, the instinct when unwanted midlife fat appears can be to cut calories, restrict carbohydrates, or simply train harder. But an active body in midlife still needs enough energy and nutrients to train, recover, maintain muscle, and function well.
I didn’t need more punishment.
I needed to restructure how I moved, fueled, and recovered.
True healthspan, high energy, and a lean, responsive body weren’t going to come from doubling down on what I’d always done. I needed a more complete approach.
The Moment I Chose a Different Path
Around the time I hit that midlife wall, I considered returning to triathlon. It had shaped so much of my life—the racing, the structure, the community.
But when I sat with that idea, something shifted. I realized it wasn’t the racing I missed. It wasn’t about chasing another peak performance or standing on another podium.
What I actually craved was something deeper: variety.
Swimming, cycling, running, walking, lifting, hiking, cross-country skiing—moving across different terrains, seasons, movement patterns, and intensities.
That’s what made me feel strong, steady, and alive. That’s what restored my Feel-Good Factor. And as my body became stronger and more capable again, I started looking and feeling more athletic too.
I didn’t want to spend the next few decades endlessly chasing performance.
I wanted to move forward in a way that allowed me to stay active, adventurous, strong, and energized now—and for decades to come.
The Shift to “The Energy Body”
When I stopped simply asking more from my body and instead restructured my entire week—introducing varied movement patterns, targeted indoor lifting, smarter recovery, and shifting from caloric restriction to supportive fueling—things began to change.
- The stubborn midlife fat started moving
- My all-day energy became far more stable
- My body felt stronger and better supported
- My upper-body strength returned
- I felt lighter, younger, and more capable
Even my bike and run times improved without deliberately chasing performance :).
That’s when I realized this wasn’t just about getting fitter.
It was about building a body capable of supporting the life I wanted to keep living.
That is why I founded Reinvent Strong.
Your Energy Body Shift™ Architecture
To help your body respond to training again, we don’t replace the outdoor sport you love. We build around it.
Your weekly rhythm is structured around five foundational pillars that work together to create a stronger, better-fueled, better-recovered, more capable body.
1. Move (Build Variety)
Build movement variety across terrains, seasons, disciplines, and intensities—hills, intervals, cycling, swimming, hiking, running, walking, or cross-country skiing.
We protect the outdoor sport you love while introducing complementary activities and movement patterns your primary sport may not provide.
The goal isn’t to do everything.
It’s to stop asking your body to do only one thing.
2. Lift (Build Your Armor)
Progressive strength training designed to support your outdoor life.
Targeted resistance training builds and protects muscle, supports bone health, strengthens the movement patterns your primary sport may neglect, and creates a more resilient body for everything you want to keep doing.
You don’t become a gym person.
You use the gym to become stronger outside it.
3. Fuel (Support Your Body)
Nutrition that gives an active midlife body what it needs to train, recover, maintain muscle, manage appetite, and support sustainable fat loss.
Not starvation. Not endlessly cutting carbohydrates. Not trying to out-train what you eat.
Not restriction—support.
4. Recover (Find Your Recovery Rhythm)
Training only creates the stimulus. Recovery gives your body the opportunity to adapt to it.
We build genuine recovery into your weekly rhythm so muscles can rebuild, energy can return, and tomorrow’s training isn’t constantly being compromised by yesterday’s fatigue.
Recovery isn’t the absence of progress. It’s part of how all-round strength is built.
5. Live (Sustain Momentum)
Your training has to work inside your actual life.
That means building daily habits and a flexible weekly rhythm that can survive work, family, holidays, bad weather, missed sessions, and everything else life throws at you.
No extremes required. No perfect weeks required.
Momentum Wins™
The Engine of Reinvention
If the Energy Body Shift™ is what we change, Momentum Wins™ is how we make it last.
At the heart of my work is Momentum Wins™—the belief that small, well-chosen actions, repeated consistently, compound into lasting strength, energy, and the Feel-Good Factor.
Motivation doesn’t have to be constant. Extremes aren’t required.
There’s no need to restart every Monday—it’s you vs. you.
Momentum is built through a rhythm that holds up across real life: fitted in, repeatable, sustainable, and flexible.
Miss something? Adjust and keep moving.
Have a difficult week? Do what you can and keep the thread alive.
Because what you do consistently over years matters far more than what you can force yourself to do for six perfect weeks.
Who This Work Is For
This work is for you if you’re an active woman 45+ who loves being outdoors but increasingly feels that the training you’ve always relied on isn’t giving you the body, energy, or strength it once did.
Maybe you’re still cycling, running, hiking, skiing, swimming, or walking—but you’re carrying stubborn midlife fat you can’t seem to shift. Your recovery isn’t what it used to be. Your energy disappears halfway through the afternoon. Or you’re beginning to notice gaps in your strength that endurance fitness alone isn’t fixing.
You don’t want to give up the activities you love and retreat indoors to make midlife one enormous corrective exercise project.
You want to keep doing more of life.
You’re not chasing extreme transformations or quick-fix starvation diets.
You’re ready to build a steadier, smarter, more varied weekly rhythm that works with your life rather than taking it over.
You understand this isn’t about a phase or a finish line.
It’s about building a body that continues to say yes to life’s adventures—now and for decades.
What Actually Changes For You…
When your training, fueling, strength work, and recovery finally work together rather than competing with one another, something changes.
You stop endlessly trying to force your body into submission and start building the conditions that allow it to become stronger, leaner, better recovered, and more capable.
You begin to feel athletic again.
You can shift stubborn fat without starving yourself. You have energy left at 3 p.m. You develop strength that supports what you do outside. You recover better. You feel more at home in your own skin.
And because you’re building a more complete body rather than simply doing more of the same, something else can happen too:
Your Feel-Good Factor returns.
Often, your bike or run performance improves without performance ever being the primary goal.
This is not an aesthetics-first approach. But when your body is well-recovered, well-nourished, and building all-round strength through variety, looking more athletic can become a welcome consequence—not the entire purpose.
Because the real goal is bigger. To have the energy to go. The strength to do. And a body capable of continuing to say yes.
